Lyon House Museum, Kew

This house/museum was the vision of owner and architect Corbet Lyon. Our job was to clad the exterior facade in bluestone sourced from Bamstone. The bluestone panels are all mechanically fixed using unistrut and stone clips. The unistrut is fixed back to concrete tilt panels and stone clips are then inserted into biscuit joints in the top and bottom of each stone and attached to the unistrut behind. The front and rear facade have cylindrical pieces of bluestone which are attached to the bluestone panels via threaded rod. They have been strategically placed to spell out the surname of the architect - LYON. On the front facade the cylindrical pieces of stone create the outline of the letters. while on the rear facade this is reversed. This job consisted of a whopping 2000m2 of stone cladding.
